
PUBLIC HEALTH
The Daniels County Health Department’s (DCHD) mission is to promote and protect the health of our community. DCHD implements various Public Health programs such as Communicable Disease Control and Prevention as well as Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Programs (such as Public Education, Tobacco Use Prevention, and the MT Cancer Control Program).
DCHD provides the following services:
The Montana Cancer Control and Screening Program provides women in Region 11 (Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt and Valley Counties), who are uninsured or underinsured and within the program’s income guidelines, with free mammograms, clinical breast exams and pap tests, as well as diagnostic testing for the follow up of abnormal screening tests.
Prairie Home Assistance Program: CNA available for home health visits to assist with bathing or personal care. Services limited to staff availability. (No medical or skilled service provided and no insurance billing).
SAIL (falls prevention) exercise classes are held every Tuesday at 10am and Thursday at 10am at the Senior Center.
Narcan is available through our office (no questions asked). Narcan is a life-saving medication that can reverse and overdose from opioids – including heroin, fentanyl and prescription opioid medications – when given in time.
Daniels County Cancer Coalition – to assist residents in our community with expenses associated with cancer treatment or cancer screenings.
